I've been away from the PIC for a while and decided to fly it again. I went through my normal checklist and after enabling the autopilot and VNAV, it was like it wasn't even turned on.It would miss the altitude I had set, FLCH was totally ignored. Specifying a heading and HDG SEL seems to work fine though.I found that my joystick (an MS FF2) was still controlling the pitch whereas I think it wasn't doing that when the aircraft was working fine.I've tried uninstalling the PIC and reinstalling it to no avail.Does anyone have any ideas on this?-- Scotte

"I went through my normal checklist and after enabling the autopilot and VNAV, it was like it wasn't even turned on." I'm sorry but what type of checklist are you following? When did you enable vnav? When you say "like it wasn't even turned on" what was not on? The vnav button light? "It would miss the altitude I had set, FLCH was totally ignored". Ok now i'm confused? Altitude set where? On the MCP? On the vnav page? FLCH has NOTHING to do with vnav. If you have a route that you are using and engage the F/D A/T lnav + vnav + cmd 1 the FMC will fly the bird. Whatever altitude you set in the MCP the bird will only go up to that alt. So give me a idea of what excatly you are trying to do etc. Best Wishes,Randy J. I did get it working finally. I removed the autopilot section out of the saved flt file and had a good night's sleep. Not sure what went wrong, but I will be trying another flight with it tomorrow.-- Scotte
