ETOPS planning

Is there somethingn out ther that makes enroute alternates eays to choose? I'm really looking for an easy to use tool to show a tactical chart that shows range rings to chosen alternates. Mostly NATOPS for me- at least in a 767, I use the 777 over the pacific :)Btw, FSBuild 2 is really coming along nicely It has everything that I want except the tactical chart stuff. You can even view the DP/STARS in the planner along with planning current NAT tracksCompletely off topic, Doesn't Pegasus support TCAS on the ND as opposed to a separte display (VSI or stand alone)TIA,Tim

Nope!We just use the fix page to find the closest airports to us, once you've flown a route a few times you get very familiar with the enroute alternates. We also have a small map with each of the company approved airports on it.And Pegasus has nothing to do with TCAS.

Yep- on further review, I found some stuff that has TCAS fitted to the standard ND. On the SF340 that I had the pleasure of flying jumpseat on we had the VSi/TCAS units.Tim

Tim, You flew the 340? If so, all Airbuses that I know of have the TCAS on the ND. Some even have terrain avoidance.

hmm, small chart...i have an ETOPS flight progress chart for mid and nort atlantic crossings used by SNBA(birdy)'s A330's and i can say, it ain't small :) lolwhenever i fly ETOPS i have that chart next to me, just crying to be held out when suddenly the "ohh nooo, engine n

I did not fly them, but I worked for BizEx almost 10 years ago when TCAS was first fitted to the commuter fleet- they had a separate display for TCAS that as not on teh ND then. at least on teh ones I flew on :) It is a great situational awareness tool. Only cost ~30k per plane.Tim

He said SF340. That's a Saab.Martin767 fetishistIt's a lot like life and that's what's appealing

Lenny, in addition to the company chart Chris describes we also have the HUGE Jeppesen printed ETOPS planning chart for the areas in which we operate the 767, one for 120 minutes and one for 180 minutes (and maybe a few more).
