February 18, 200323 yr Hi,I have just recently purchased 767 PIC and I have ran into a few problems. Was hoping someone on this board will be able to help.My problem is, when I select the 767 PIC from the aircraft menu, the system slows dowm and the rotating model at the bottom of the screen is stuttering badly. Once I start the sim in the cockpit view the frame rate is fine. If I go to any external view the frames drop from 25-30 fps to 3-4 fps. Can I assume it is a poor model that is causing the problem? I have looked on the Wilco site and done the tweaks that they suggested, including setting the PIC scenery to 'cache' in the edit options. Would I get better results by using the POSKY & PIC Merge?Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.I am using:PIII 1000mhz512mb RAMATi Radeon 8500 128mb (with Catalyst 3.1 driver set)FS2002Windows XP (sp1)DirectX 9767 PIC (FS2002 & Win XP Patch)CH Flight Yoke
February 18, 200323 yr Hello and welcome!Yes you will need the Posky Merge to be able to use a newer and much more friendlyer ext model which is nicer on frame rates {in fact double!}. Here is a link on where to get the merge program and a detailed "How to". http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...rum=DCForumID33 If you have any problems at all just let me know or I can send you a *Ready made* merged package that you would just drop into the FS aircraft folder.Best Wishes,Randy J. February 19, 200323 yr Randy,Thanks for the tips. I managed to merge the 767 PIC pit with the POSKY model and all worked well. I now have a new (great) model with good frame rates and the great PIC cockpit. Did a test flight last night from CYYZ to CYOW and had no problems. Thanks for the help.
