Patches to FS2002

Featured Replies

I know this question has been asked, so my apologies for asking again, I cannot seem to locate the message thread. I purchased the 767 CD. On the product key label it says 7671.0 which I am assuming is Verion 1.0 for 2000. There seems to be much confusion as to what patch to use to upgrade to use this with FS2002. Is there a definitive answer? I tried one patch and while the 767 cockpit came up in FS2002, the program froze and nothing worked. There seems to be two patches out there. When I go to the Wilco site it says the 2002 patch is something like 767PIC10to11. But then there are cautions about using the 1.1 patch. I am VERY confused. Any help would would appreciated.

First, make sure that you do not use any patch off the cd. After installing {make sure to choose fs2002 when installing} use this update: ftp://ftp.wilcopub.com/767PilotinCommandPatchFS2002.exe There is another patch called "3rd party devices (FS2002 only)" that can be used although you might have trouble saving flights. It adds some little things but is not needed unless you own a external MCP etc. If you want to use it: ftp://ftp.wilcopub.com/767PilotinCommandPatch12to13.exe Since you have a corrupted install, use this install cleaner patch before reinstalling PIC 767. ftp://ftp.wilcopub.com/W767Cleaner.exe I would also suggest that you manually remove the Wilco Publishing folder left in the FS2002 AIRCRAFT dir that the uninstalling process does not remove before reinstalling. One more impotant note. When you first load up PIC 767, it will FREEZE flight sim. What you need to do is either hit "CTRL + TAB" or "CTRL + ALT DEL" to get out of flight sim although don't close FS. Get back in by clicking on the icon on your taskbar and you will see a PIC 767 message box clalled "TIPS". Make sure you uncheck this box so it does not pop up. Best Wishes,Randy J. This is very helpful, thank you. One problem though. I know you mentioned in your last paragraph that when you first load up PIC 767, it will FREEZE flight sim...and it did. However, it froze it to the extent that CTL + ALT DEL didn't even work. Any other suggestions? I will try CTL + TAB and see if that works. It is very frustrating.

Hi Unfortunately it will, you need to load adefault flight first with a DEFAULT aircraft, or eneter FS2K2 via the Blue Menu screen firstBest Wishes,Chris

Yea.. that first-freeze is scary if you don't know about it. My heart skipped when it happened and I was sweating for good 20sec while it was loading. "It's just HAD to work!!!!!" I yelled.
