March 10, 200323 yr hi,i have the following problem:i no longer have airport display on the ND, and it seems that ILS and VOR are not working, they are giving wrong information..i tried to install some new navdata, but did nothing..thanks for the helpPaolo
March 10, 200323 yr Make sure that the file, airports.dat, is in the FMCWPNavdata folder. Not in just FMCWP folder. Not in any of the subfolders below FMCWP/navdata.You should also see in that folder:fmc_ident.txtwpNavAPT.txtwpNavFIX.txtwpNavAID.txtwpNavRTE.txtAt least, that's what's in my FMCWP/navdata folder.
March 10, 200323 yr that's what i have..and a also have a file called Airport.datstill doens't work..:'(thankspaolo
March 10, 200323 yr Paolo,The last several issues of the navdata airport file are missing many airports. I have noticed that most of western N. America's airports are missing. The rest of the world (or at least where I have flown) seem to be Okay. Don't know why. They all used to be there but disappeared for some reason several navadata releases ago.Kevin in CYOW
March 10, 200323 yr Same here Kevin. I was flying west over Texas a couple of days ago and clicked on the airports display button. The lower half of the HSI was lit up with airports but everything ahead was dark. There are many sections of North America that are like that. Additionally, I find many areas where the IRS is unable to verify my location resulting in the FMC warning message.
March 10, 200323 yr I noticed the same some time ago - North America seemed to have moved. On approach to Hong Kong, I was surprised to learn that Texarcana was only twenty miles away...Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
March 10, 200323 yr ok thanks for your reply, but do you have the same problem,in a no airport display aera, when i tune an ILS, i get a very wrong information of glide and loc, it seems not to work anymore..is someone has the same problem?thanks Paolo
March 10, 200323 yr Paolo,Despite the airport display issue everything else works OK. That is, the ILS all seem to work OK and auto-tune to the correct frequency. For me it is just some sort of display problem. So no, I don't think I have the same problem. Sorry, I have no ideas to help you.Kevin in CYOW
March 11, 200323 yr Hi Paolo,it looks like you've got some seriously bad navdata. I would take the radical approach and just reinstall PIC. If you're using the PIC-POSKY merge and Lee's TCAS, remember to back up your aircraft.cfg and your panel.cfg before uninstalling, and also delete the entire 'FMCWP' folder. Then just start over again.Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
March 11, 200323 yr Thanks you all for your help!you were right, i tried to display airport next to KMIA and it worked perfectly;i'm gonna reinstall PIC, and were can i get Lee's gauge?thanks for everythinghappy flightsPaolo
