VHXX adding Kai Tak

Featured Replies

Hello, i need help for adding the Kai Tak airport to the navdata/airports in PIC767 ? i use the ultimate hongkongscenery package, currently VHHH is shown as VHHH 22.308919 113.914603could anyone tell me the working after the decimal there forthe co-ordinates ? even a basic edit to add the airport can workcan it not ? if so how because FS recognises the IGS approachto RWY13 anyway ,if i got the FMC to recognise VHXX that wouldbe excellent to fly out of the legendary Kai Tak Thanks Deepan

Hello geoff, thanks a lot for the reply (should have done a proper search m'self) :-hang ,but while your at it any idea abouthow the LAT/LONGS are coded after the decimal point ? i used toprogram the full kai-tak approach from departure from RWY13entirely on the nav-dash years ago but i've forgotten the formatVHHH 22.308919 113.914603 in the AIRPORTS DAT is actually N22"18.53' E113"54.88' appreciate any help thanks again Deepan

My understanding is that N22"18.53' E113"54.88' translates to 22.1853 113.5488.I should point out at this point that I've never actually tried this myself, so re-read the reference and backup your navdata! If it does work, I'd keep a copy of the update in case you decide to update your AIRAC data using the Richard Stefan site and then you can just paste it into the new file.Best of luck

I am pretty certain that N22"18.53' translates to 22.30883333333, that is decimal degrees (not minutes and decimal minutes). At least the FMC uses decimal degrees in the flightplan and SID/STAR files.Lee Hetherington (KBED)http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg

Aahh yes , thanks a lot for your replies Geoff,Lee and gostaam just about to attempt adding Kai Tak with the info you'vegiven me ,oh and thanks for the posky merge Lee ;) brilliantwill post back when i'm hopefully successful flyingin-out of the great Kai Tak with all my addons ,well all PSS/PIC at least dont know about Dreamfleet though ..thanks again

Hi,first you must set the airport-datas in AIRPORTS.DAT and in the wpNavAPT.txt file. Second, the files are sorted after Lat and Long coordinates, so add it into the right position.Third, and thats for me :-)When you sent me the runway coordinates, i add the airport in the next AIRAC cycle. After that you can expect VHXX into all major addons ...
