April 23, 200323 yr Dear Sirs,When's the best time to depart/arrive the UK/USA for a transatlantic flight so that controllers are online. Are there any transatlantic events?Regards,
April 24, 200323 yr Hi!In the past there have been events called "CTP (Cross The Pond)" however there have not been any of these in a very long while. On the UK side of things, aim to arrive at around 1900z-2100z to get the best ATC. Not sure on the USA side I am affraid.RgdsIan BowdenVATUK12
April 24, 200323 yr Hi:You will find that around 21-22Z there is quite a lot of control in Europe. Plan a westbound flight. If you accelerate the crossing of the NAT's over water, you can plan to arrive on the eastern coast of North America at around 00-01Z, and there will be a lot of control on this side.Tuesday nights are busy.Of course there are the many planned fly-ins and events that you should check for on a regular basis.Enjoy!Roberto Roberto Stopnicki Toronto, Canada
