May 21, 200323 yr ...Good morning at all, ...after having read the whole manual and practising some things, I'd like to try an Atlantic Cross with the 767, doing it as real as I can...:) ...so, first of all, I've taken into consideration the weather, and from the PS1 site (http://www.natroutes.glideslope.de/), I've downloaded the weather charts and the Winds/Temp prognosis ones... ...after a bounch of minutes of looking at them, and analysing them, I've understood something, but I'm not still satisfied (...I mean, I'd like to understand what I see well...not just gues..)...so, I've read here, in the forum, that you recently made a cross of the pond with the realistic weather...and you maybe can help me, adressing to a site or a reading that can help me understand the NOAA's charts... ...thanks a lot, Sydney
May 21, 200323 yr Hi Sydney,This is a major topic when interpreting real world wx charts. So major that in fact for the private pilot's written test alone a large portion of the syllabus and time taken to study is spent on this. I wonder- do you have any specific questions? The entire subject, as you can see, is a class-room topic! :)You could e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll try to help you. Some of the issue is also an understanding of the weather engine- what causes what, and how that affects aviation. That's another whole classroom topic too, of course :)Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. May 21, 200323 yr Sydney,I provided a fairly detailed answer to a similar question many months ago in this forum (I think). Try a search for postings by CYOW_pilot and it should come up. If you still have specific questions I would be happy to answer them.Kevin in CYOW
May 23, 200323 yr ...Thanks to both Bruce and Kevin...:)...I'm looking right now for that topic......then I'll ask you more specific questions...:) Bye, Sydney
May 23, 200323 yr Keving, I did a forum search but could not find any postings regarding the weather charts..
May 23, 200323 yr Hi Sydney,Once again, if you have any specific questions on weather charts, I'd be happy to answer from what I know about them. There are many weather charts available to pilots, some deal with different altitudes and some with different aspects of weather as it relates to aviation- and some a current wx and some are forecast.Bruce. May 23, 200323 yr Sydney and Andreas,My apologies, I posted the info in the MS FS2002 forum, not the PIC767 forum. Do a search for "Jet Stream" and you should find the thread. It dates from Oct and Nov of last year. Sorry for the mis-information, the old memory is not what it once was!Kevin in CYOW
