October 9, 200322 yr hey guys, i had some loggin issues so i had to make a new name, i was Iloveairbus, i have not been paying to much attention to this forum until i heard about the update for the 767. i have 1 question, dont kill me about it if its been stated somewher else, but are the standby guages going to fitted into the panel without a sub panel. if u dont know this, im a realism freak, hate it when something is unrealistic, its like my worst pet peave. i hated the fact that the standby instruments wher not included in the panel. and also, are those buttons that open up the fmc and overhead going to be released. thanksadamYou cant truley understand flying until you have actually tasted and felt it.
October 9, 200322 yr I seriously doubt this change will be made. Besides, it would make the rest of the instruments all that much smaller, and I think there are lots of folks that wouldn't like that.Lee Hetherington (KBED)
October 10, 200322 yr I think I heard that the panel bmps would be the same??? Don't quote me on that. But if such is the case, no standby gauges on main panel.
October 13, 200322 yr Yes, that is what Wade has said Ray but he said nothing is set in stone yet. I agree with Lee here too, you would have to make everything much too small or loose some other gauges for a realistic view, lucky for us the aircraft is so well made that the panel layout is a minor annoyance.[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. October 14, 200322 yr PIC767 is one of many designs that have backup gauges or any gauge for that matter in extra windows. When a panel is modelled with as many realistic features as PIC, it makes it very difficult for the designer to throw everything on the main panel and retain good readability of the gauges. Captain Sim's 727 is a good example of what not to do as the gauges are darn near impossible to read. It was PIC's panel layout that inspired me to put my 732 panel together in a similar way (overlapping panel windows) so that gauge readability is excellent and all features are still present. I think with all the advancments in flight sim these days, you are going to see more and more of this type of design as designers are cramming their panel packages with as many simulated sytems and gauges then ever before. So I guess to make a long story short, gauge readability is extremely important to sim properly and heck in a perfect world we would all have full motion sims...ah one can dream :)Regards,Van LatendresseYeoDesigns/AFG GroupPanel/FDE Designer
