POSKY or IFDG?

Featured Replies

I have been using the IFDG 767 and have been happy with the merge. However I see that posky came out (some time ago) with a gmax 767. From some of the more experienced PIC'ers out there does anyone have an opinion about which goes better with PIC? I'm more interested in flight dynamics than in eyecandy for PIC. (If I want eye-candy I go to FS9 PMDG) Thanks!Josh

Lee Hetherington did the Posky merge and I did the IFDG and both use PIC's FDE, so you get pure PIC flight dynamics. It is really about personal preference for the model I guess. Posky's has it's advantages in some aspects and IFDG's in others. For example IFDG's model has wing views, dynamic shine and opening doors/cargo hold and Posky's is probably a little more correct in the actual modelling of the aircraft, but has none of the aformentioned features that the IFDG model has.If you are the type of simmer that never leaves the flightdeck to look around the plane or goes into spot view, then Posky is probably your best bet, but I'm a sucker for wingviews and going into spot view at the gate, so the IFDG bird is for me :)Regards,Van LatendresseYeodesigns/AFG GroupPanel/FDE Designer

mmmm wing views. :) I guess I have to put those back into the panel.cfg. I need to take out the left/right panel views as well as I like to see full screen outside views.Thank you for your precise response. Answered all my questions. Joshp.s. I know this panel is amazing when I start dreaming about programming the FMC in the middle of the night!

You are quite welcome Josh and of course John is correct as there is nothing wrong with having both Posky's and IFDG's 763 models in your hanger. I have both myself and fly both all though I spend more time in the IFDG model because of the features I mentioned in my previous reply.I really would like to see Posky create a new 763 model as they have done with their soon to be released 757 (looks absolutely amazing) and when their plates are not so full with all that they have done recently, perhaps they will consider it. A new 767-300 from Posky would be perfect timing for the new PIC767v2 and definately the combo I would fly 99% of the time. :)Regards,Van LatendresseYeoDesigns/AFG GroupPanel/FDE Designer

I have both now but I must say I enjoy those wing views. And now that I know that the FDE's are the same i'll just use the IFDG one for the time being. I can't wait for that 757 as well it looks fantastic! For so long there were none out that were any good. It's kind of interesting that both IFDG and POSKY kind of compete with each other. Wonder what that is about. :) In any case it makes for better Boeings for us. Josh
