November 9, 200322 yr Hi,On the PIC 767 I know that to get an accurate rotation and smooth departure you have to set the trim to around 3 units every time.In the PIC/POSKY merge that was supplied on this forum, the trim is somewhere around 7. Should I leave it like this, or change it to something more realistic for good rotation?Thanks.Alex.
November 9, 200322 yr Both the 767 and 757 should be trimmed to 4 units prior to take off.Regards,Van LatendresseYeoDesigns/AFG GroupPanel/FDE Designer
November 10, 200322 yr The exact takeoff trim setting usually varies between 4 and 5 units, depending on load.I have a trim chart, from which you can establish the exact trim amount. Also Ilan Jonas' excellent dispatcher program calculates the trim as a function of load.I myself put it to 4.5 units if I'm too lazy to make the calculations.Tero PPL(A)
November 10, 200322 yr Hi,Thanks, could you perhaps send me the chart please to [email protected] with 767 and 757 always set trim to around 4 units?Regards.Alex.
November 10, 200322 yr Get the dispatcher, perhaps the PIC club has it on their site. The trim setting is perfect everytime, and yes it's usually around high 4 to low 5 for a fully loaded aircraft.
November 10, 200322 yr I always send the stabiliser trim to +4 units , rudder and aileron trim to 0 (which is default anyway). After landing, as per my 'After landing' checklist I set stab trim to +3 units.
