Rudder Authority-Zero Fuel Weight

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,I have been trying to fly single engine without success!! I have modifyed the .cfg file(thanks Mark) but with full power on the live engine and full opposite rudder it still rolls over and loses speed!!Is it my cheap side winder control column??Was it my imagination or did I see a posting on how to change the weight and balance file some time ago?Reducing the weight may help ref the above.Any help would be appreciated!!Regards Simmslot

Hi Simmslot,Make sure you have the flight_tuning section in your aircraft.cfg, and the rudder effectiveness is set high enough, that _IS_ the key to succesfully controlling the aircraft.I myself am using both yaw dampers (ie, also the auto-coord), and am still able to perfectly control the aircraft even in engine out sits.Tero

Hi Tero,Thanks for your help. I have got the flight tuning section in the .cfg file. It is set on 24 with the yaw dampers on but the aircraft won't fly on one engine?? Are there any other settingsto check??...is it the "joystick" I am using??RegardsSimmslot

Hi Simmslot,I just did about 20 V1-cuts with our 757 FDE yesterday, and I discovered that 24 with both Y/Ds on does the trick for it. IF I remember right, PIC767 airfile was similar in that sense, with 24 it should be able to fly straight with ONE engine with ALMOST full rudder used in the live engine side.Have you checked that your realism sliders are maxed out. Remember that you need to be fast with the rudder, or else the aircraft will roll over.Tero
