Aerosof's MCP EFIS and EICAS system and PIC

Featured Replies

Hi guysI am holding the cash in hand to purchase the EFIS and EICAS system and the MCP from Aerosoft in Australia. Do any of you have it and would you recomend it?Charityflight's cockpit is being built and this seems to be the best way to go with the expansion slots for the encorders and switches. Any help we can get would be welcomed at this point. We don't want to buy something that is junk and we would have to scrap. I don't think this is however.

Bill,Ilan, Niko, Stephan Haas, Ray Proudfoot and some others have this unit. Niko uses his alongside 2 Hagstrom Keyboard encoders. The Keyboard encoders have allowed him to replicate a lot of the 767 panel functions.Later

Bill Buddy don't jump the gun just yet :-) Hold on to the cash. Just don't say I didn't warn you before! Something exciting is around the corner :-yellow1Can't say much right now though... Happy New-Year,Haroon.

I really like the units - it's great with PIC. Have in mind though that the promised expansion boards are not out yet - though you can work it out with some help from Andrew McLean and some basic electronics knowledge (Stephan - correct me if I'm wrong here...).BTW Latest news from Aerosoft (today) shows some progress. this is how I "converted" the units for PIC use: http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/55512.jpgEdit: Saw Haroon's post. Oh Mama! hope this corner is close by ;-)

Hello,I currently use the MCP & efis/eicas units and I'm sure that you'llfind that they definitely enhance "flying" the PIC767. I certainly enjoy them. The efis/eicas units were not necessarily made from the outset to be used with pic767 however you will find that you can use them quite easily within PIC. Aerosoft have programed certain encoders for PIC (DH, Baro)chowever, most others will have to be programmed using a keyboard interface. Ilan told me about a program called "KEY2Mouse" and it works well with the efis/eicas unit. As for the MCP...well I'm really happy with it!...I just hope that it will be (made)compatible with "767 version 2".Happy Landings and a great New Year to all...

Yep, I have the MCP now for over 1 year. It certainly made a big difference in flying the 767, and I am very pleased with it.I don't use the EFIS/EICAS modules but are planning to make my own. The expansion board for the MCP was announced long time ago, but is still not available. Andrew McLean published the schematics, but that's beyond my electronic abilities. If expanding possibilities are high on your list: Just like Nico Kaan I have two Hagstrom KE72 encoders (not fully used right now), so you can live without the board. And now Haroon is promising us something new. No idea what he is hinting at. Anyhow, afaik the 747 MCP is not available at the moment, so you can still keep the money in your pocket and wait for Haroon's surprise.Kind regards,Stephan Haaswww.lemont.nl/b767flightdeckhttp://www.pic767flyingclub.com/images/sas544.jpg

Don't be alarmed though, V2 is coming along as promised. Let's just say I know a little more- Right Bill ? (you can step in) lolAnyway. 744 MCP is same as 767 (few differences). and you already have it. Maybe your saying you'd like to see a "realistic" 744/767 MCP with electro-magnetic rolling digits ? :-) Best,Haroon

Haroon, lead the way. Others will follow.Let's hope the price is less than the Aerosoft unit or the Real One's on Simspares.com

>Haroon,>>lead the way. I'm a hobbist myself plus I'm happy with the job I have right now, so don't worry about the cost... I gave away about the MCP, but this is still not it though. Keep thinking :-rollBest,Haroon

Haroon,OK, you win: I enter 2004 in a state of complete disorientation!Kind regards,Stephan Haaswww.lemont.nl/b767flightdeckhttp://www.pic767flyingclub.com/images/sas544.jpg

Ok Haroon...email me the why

Stephan. 2 more days of waiting :-) It's a piece of hardware and never done before for 757/767. Which part might it be ?Best,Haroon
