January 11, 200422 yr Hello everyone,I've been using a "homemade" PIC-POSKY merge for a long time now. I go the POSKY files from my VA, along with some ".air" files that I don't believe are original POSKY, and some aircraft.cfg. I aliased the panel & sounds, and added the PIC "electrical" section into the aircraft.cfg. Everything appeared to work correctly, but I have no idea how accurate the FDE was.About a week ago, I came across the PIC Flying Club webpage, and downloaded the "official" PIC-POSKY merge available there. It installed fine, built up the .cfg files, copied the ".air" file, etc. I tried out the plane, it started up fine, and appeared to take off fine (I'm not a 767 driver in the real world, so I don't know if it handles correctly, but the trim was what it should've been). However, I started to notice some "weird" things in the climb:The "GA" engine mode called for an N1 of about 101.0. The "CLB" mode wanted 102.something . The "CLB1" mode had 94, "CLB2" had "89", and "CRZ" had 98.I thought that GA was supposed to be the highest N1 limit (which was the way it worked with the old ".air" file). Also- the plane was really struggling (297,200 lbs TO weight) to climb, I had to put it in GA mode to get anything over 1000 FPM climb (CLB1 had 300-500 FPM).When I finally got to cruise, the fuel burn, when everything settled out, was only 3.5 per engine, which seems WAY too low, since it's almost 1000 less than a 757... The N1, to maintain mach .80 was 93-95.These numbers are all very different than my old ".air" file.I want to know:A)What (about) the real numbers areB)How to get those numbers (ie- the most realistic flying ".air" file). If anyone knows these, please respond!!!
January 11, 200422 yr Ben,Sounds like you might have been using some other air file than PIC's original. Are you using POSKY's air file ?Tero PPL(A)
January 11, 200422 yr Tero I was just thinking the exact same thing! All the symptoms point to the opensky air file problems when used with pic. Make sure you put the pic air file in the folder. All should work fine. Another thing. did you D-rate thrust?
January 11, 200422 yr Nope, using normal thrust, will try manually copying the airfile, and I'll report back after my next 767 flight... Thanks!
January 11, 200422 yr I just replaced the file in the aircraft folder with the original one from the PIC folder... It's the same file size, file name, & modified date....Is it possible that it's the FS2000 version, that the 2002 update didn't install correctly? Would it fly any differently (or at all) in 2002 if the update didn't work???One "bug"/problem I've had before is that when I start up the plane, the Utility busses don't work, and there isn't enough APU air pressure to run the packs... I can load any configuration and the same thing happens, but then when I save the flight, quit FS, restart, and go to this flight, everythign works fine...Is this connected???
January 12, 200422 yr Ben,sounds as if you have something goofy going on there.Try uninstalling PIC and the POSKY Merge. Then reinstall PIC and do the merge.
