Hello to all, what does it mean when we are to put the ILS in "Park" The real world procedures say you must select PK or --- during preflight. Is this something you can see in the frequency window on the pedestal? I do see the word in the FMC Radio page, but you cannot type Park on the ILS line, Can someone please clarify how this works. Thank You :-wave

When you wind the frequency select knob anticlockwise (until you are below the lowest ILS frequency (108.10) on the real 767 (pedestal-mounted) ILS control panel, depending on what kind of panel options you have, the freq display will blank (show dashes) OR the freq display will blank and "PK" (or something similar) will be annunciated in the left hand side of the freq window. The real 767-300's NAV1 (Left VOR) glareshield control panel doesn't have ILS frequencies. Nor, as far as I know, does the FMC CDU have the facility for tuning ILS's (that is not to say that the FMC can't use manually tuned ILS frequencies to help refine the FMC's lat/long calculations. The PIC team are aware of this, but MSFS imposes certain limitations on programming. They may go further towards reality in the upcoming PICv2???Hope this helps.Cheers.Ian.

Hi Ian, the FMC CDU is able to tune an ILS freq, but its only use would be the DME because no other procedures exist where you would need a localizer and not have it tuned on the ILS panel itself. Select the freq or identifier on the NAV RAD or PROGRESS page, depending on whichever FMC software is used, and you'll get the DME from the ILSDME.Iz
