Hi,I'm really enjoying Tero's new v. 3 757 FDE a lot, it's so great! I've noticed that the climb performance with the new FDE is down quite a bit from the v 2.0 FDE. Is this because of the increased ZFW in the aircraft.cfg distributed with the new 3.0 FDE? The 3.0 FDE seems to be very accurate at takeoff and climb through 10,000 feet but seems a little sluggish from about FL250 onwards, even with light fuel loads. Just wondering how this performance conforms to the real 757 w/PW2030 engines with a ZFW of 175,000 lbs as is modeled with the V. 3 FDE. I was under that impression that the 757 rockets up to cruise altitudes at light weights and would maintain a climb rate of at least 2000 ft per minute until cruise level off.Thanks a lot for any insight.

Hi,Version 3.0 climb performance was corrected from 2.0 in many ways. It is not "inferior" to 2.0, that is impossible. We adjusted the climb performance from 2.0 to even better match this table that I'm attaching below. In v3.0 the aircraft will not slow down during climb in wind changes that real-weather programs generate, and is generally a lot more stable climber than the 2.0. However, as I've not seen that sluggish behaviour myself, it's interesting, and I'd like you to contact me at [email protected] for more detailed information on the speeds, weights and climb rates you were experiencing.See the table below. Your notion about 2000 FPM is not right. Obviously normal 757 flights would place you at least in the "nominal" weight column, but you can extrapolate between the weights, too. If you were (and I suspect it's the case) experiencing climb rates similar to those of the table here, then there is no bug. Those climb rates conform to the real PW2037 engine performance.Please note too, that the climb rates in the table are for 290/m 0.78 climbs, so climbing in 308/m 0.80 will give you a bit smaller climb rates. Hello Tero,Thank you very much for taking the time to respond to my inquiry and uploading this performance chart. I do believe your new FDE is spot on with the real 757. Very good job!!!!Also, I would have never believed that an idle descent would ever be possible in MSFS but you have achieved that. I made a VNAV coupled descent today with autothrottles engaged, power retarded to flight idle while holding .78m/290kts and achieved descent rates exactly according to schedule. Excellent!!!Thank you again for all your talent and hard work. I'm enjoying this more than I can describe!
