PIC 767 - IFDG climb rate

Featured Replies

PIC-IFDG merge (made in a similar fashion as PIC-POSKY, ie. PIC airfile and a combined aircraft.cfg) - yesterday I took it for a spin (not literally though) with ZFW = 245,000 lbs and FOB = 29,000 lbs (short hop). After crossing 10,000 feet and dropping the nose down to reach 300 KIAS, the rate of climb would not exceed 500 fpm. Obviously, I did not reach the CRZ ALT before T/D. Now, I know that 767 is a flying brick, but 500 fpm sounds little exaggerated doesn't it. Any suggestions ?AdamKLOU / KSDF

A flying brick? Where did you get that idea? A lightly loaded 767-300 will pin the VSI at 6000+ fpm.Wade

>A flying brick? Where did you get that idea? A lightly>loaded 767-300 will pin the VSI at 6000+ fpm.>>Wade"Flying brick"Someone somewhere compared 767 vs 757 and used this expression w.r.t. 767. "will pin VSI at 6000+ fpm"Just checked the BADA tables, a 767 with 237,000 lbs would climb at max ROC = 4390 fpm, at around 6,000 ft.Anyway, I fixed the problem with my a/c. Thanks for your response, Wade.
