lost aiport symbols west of W100?

Featured Replies

I have a rather uncommon bug: On my flights from the eastern US (having a DELTA 767 at KATL as default situation) to the west coast ore to the Pacific, I see all VOR and AIRPORT symbols at the ND as they should appear. But, approaching W100, all AIRPORT symbols disappear. Using 320 nm as range, it looks like a big blue/black border. VOR are visible as before. Why can

Cant help,but same problem here.Nebojsa

Michael,I tried it and it works,BUT what would it take to get all the airports to show up west of W100.It would take forever to do it this way and what about when you instal the next NAVAID cycle,do you have to do it all over again. ThanksNebojsa

ThanksI wrote a program that eliminates all ICAO's with less than 4 characters and in the process inserts the extra space on each line. If you don't mind not having those airports displayed - I could mail it to you.And yes, you will have to do this each time you load a new airports.dat file. Several months ago, I emailed the folks that generate the AIRAC cycle and let them know about inserting the extra space ... seems nothing has been done to correct it.-michael

thanks for your reply! would you mind to email the programme to [email protected]?regards,Andreas HermesEDDH

Thanks for the program Michael. It worked after the second try and the airports are showing now.Nebojsa :-jumpy
