767 Computer Shopping

Featured Replies

Well it is time to build a new computer(exciting times, especially with 767V2 around the corner), and I wanted to get the 767 club's opinion on what is most important when building an ulitamite flight simming machine (e.g. processor, memory, graphics card) Right now I am looking at a AMD Athlon

That sounds like a great system, but 2GB of RAM might be a bit overkill, even for FS. You're going to see FPS that pretty much never go below 30 with that setup.

Cap,Sounds like you have a great rig planned. The only two quid I can throw in is go for the MAXIMUM horsepower your budget can buy. For example, if your budget can take it I'd go for a Ultra instead of the GT. Regardless, with this level graphics card, don't skimp out on a PSU. (I've read where the MIN for the 6800 is 480watts.)You should be most likely be fine with just 1GB. However, if you plan on running a server setup, multi-monitors with multi cards, or just like to keep more than several programs running at the same time, you really can't go too wrong with an extra gig here and there.Regardless, sounds like FS should kick it big time on your new rig. Any chance you can let us know how it works out? I'm especially interested to know how your rig performs with all the FS settings at MAXIMUM!? Let us know. . .PLEASE!
