New 767 and Aeorsoft Australia MCP

Featured Replies

When I spoke with the Flight 1 staff at the AVSIM conference in Denver, they expressed interest in having the new 767 compatible with the Aerosoft Australia MCP so I contacted Andrew in Australia to see what it would take. Here is what he said:"I assume they have the source code to the PIC.DLL interface that Laurent Crenier wrote. If they have that, and they incorporate that into the new 767 then the MCP will work instantly. It was a very neat, clean interface. He did a good job."Si it doesn't sound very hard to make it happen.Wade and Laurent -- please!!!Rob G

I have nothing...but man I wish I had your setup, very sweet!

It has taken quite a while to get to this level. It is designed to be as modular as possible so that I can fly simple props, turbos, regional and heavy jets all in one setup. I also have the 737MCP by CPFlight. This is fabulous for use with the PMDG 737NG. I simply pull out the 747MCP and slide in the 737 model. There are two networked computers running the system -- one for FS, the other for support (weather and other utilities capable of running on Wide FS, and Project Magenta).Rob G

Hi Rob How's that goflight setup work (i.e. throttle) I've been looking at the throttle setup and wondered how well it worked with different addons like PMDG and PSS aircraft ? Dave.

Dave. The TQ-6 works extremely well with the PMDG, and any other plane in FS9. I recently added the new GF-ATC module as well which is also very nice.I got one of the very first releases of the TQ-6 and it had some quality problems -- handle mounts got too loose, wires broke, too awkward changing handles. GoFlight, however, is simply superb at customer support and has replaced my original unit at no cost with a brand new redesigned one that has fixed all of the original problems. The only problem I had with PMDG is that the thrust reverse only seemed to work on one engine with the default GoFLight settings. I was able to fix that easily by putting in some custom settings in FSUIPC for thrust reverse. Another great feature of the TQ-6 is that it now comes with a second set of levers for props and using FSUIPC you can set the thing up to work just like it would in a prop, including a turbo like the King Air. Very versatile. I am sure the TQ-6 will also work just fine with the new 767. I use it now with the PIC.Another problem with GoFlight equipment has been the sensitivity of the trim wheel on the LGT module. That got a lovely fix in the latest release of their software and now you can adjust the sensitivity of the wheel. In summary, I highy recommend anything from GoFlight -- well made, well supported, and reasonably priced. These guys are really clever and nice. Delighted I had a chance to meet them at AVSIM.Rob
