CSL for FS2002 Beta available

Featured Replies

I have released an early beta of the improved CSL. This is for FS2002 only, as it includes bitmap textures and some new GMax models. The beta is only available through my homepage for now, and will be changing frequently :)Improvement in this version include:Night lighting (not finished on all airlines yet..)New airliner models, heaps more detail...A few bug fixesSome new airlinesThe aircraft no longer appear in your "select aircraft" menu at all.As always with a Beta, be aware that there *may* be bugs, so report anything you find ;-)SeanSean GalbraithBizarreWorks,Specialists in Obscure and Bizarre Sim Development http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/seang1/

Hi, Sean-I really wish that I could be taking full advantage of your hard work, but I seem to be doing something wrong. I read through the README and thought that I did everything correctly, putting the aircraft folder into the FS2002 aircraft directory, and I even replaced the old CSL file in my Squawkbox directory with your new, improved one. Here's a screenshot of what I'm getting when connected to VATSIM:http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d2a77c44b68e617.jpgThe same thing is happening with UAL, DAL, etc., so it isn't strictly an AWE issue.Would you mind please giving me a step-by-step procedure so that I can view the true fruits of your labor?-TR[email protected]

tu did EVERYTHING ok - simple reason - NO CACTUS textures yetRichard GreenVATUSA4Events and VA Director

Hi!I haven't tried your CSL yet, but I wanted to ask if your night lighting is using the FS2002 light effects? I tried to add the light effects lines to the aircraft.cfg of the CSL but it didn't work on VATSIM... only when I selected the a/c in FS I was able to see the nice strobe and nav lights. But I think that this problem is more or less a bug in FS2002. In FS2000 we were able to see the standard FS lights in multiplayer sessions. It's really sad that Microsoft didn't care about this issue... regards, steve

Not a bug, just that we are using FS in a manner other than designed ;-)I will be upgrading the models again, with as-close-as-I-can-get to FS2002 lighting. Means I actually have to draw the light effects into the models themselves. Strobes will be out, unless I can find a way..Sean GalbraithBizarreWorks,Specialists in Obscure and Bizarre Sim Development http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/seang1/

Outstanding Sean, I saw my first Qantas landing at Frankfurt today, and it made me proud to be an aussie. This is a huge improvement to the SB environment. Keep up the good work. Night lights don't work, but that's OK with me since I do all my virtual flying in day time anyway.RegardsHK
