February 4, 200323 yr I have both fs2000/2002 and I have just upgraded from 98 to XP home (not a good move I hear you all cry). When I run SB it finds the session ok and roger wilco works fine but after a while I get a Module.dll fault (old faishoned blue screen of death) which wants to shut my fligh sim down. If I dont fly on line it all works ok. I am using the correct versions of SB for each type of flight sim and have managed to rule Roger Wilco out as well. Any SB experts out there know of anything to help ???? PLEASE !!
February 9, 200323 yr sorry I actually get a dynamic.dll fault message. Dyanamic.dll is a module that appears in both FS2000 and 2002. The fault only appears when SB is running and I have DirectX 8.2 PLEASE HELP !!
March 7, 200323 yr Upgrade to DirectX 9.0, and turn your dynamic scenery OFF. It's a pretty well documented problem.DirectX 8.2 doesn't work real well with SB.
March 16, 200323 yr Hoss, Where is this documented? I'm not doubting your word, but have been running SB with Win98SE and DX8.2 without any problems (other than a very slow operation some times). Could this be the problem you are referring to?Dave Hinson David Hinson
July 14, 200322 yr Never thanked you for fixing my squakbox problem back in Feb 2003. Turned dynamic scenery off and it made all the difference..Sorry It took so long to thank you..Happy flying, Matt C aka Trigger
June 6, 200422 yr The difference here is Win98. I ran FS2000/2002 on Win98 without any modifications or changes to anything on that PC. I upgraded to WinXP and this is where the problem was. SB and MSFS interact differently when running on WinXP HE. Also, the switch over to DirectX 9.0 helps alot as it is made to run on Win98SE, Win2000, and XP. Now I am running MSFS2K4, and I still keep the Dynamic Scenery off whenever I'm running Squawkbox.>Hoss,> Where is this documented?
