March 9, 200323 yr Hi,Im just all new to vatsim,sb and wilco, all i can say is i love it, but i cannot see other aircraft and dont know what to do when there are no controllersWhat do we broadcast on unicom and how do we know when a controller is available on route ???RegardsDarren
March 18, 200323 yr Hi Dassman,My first post on Avsim and I can help someone with it.Check in SB at what distance other aircraft become visible, it is in one of the options, i can't remember which as I haven't got it open.Make sure you have show callsigns enabled, when you set up your multi player flight in FS, that way you can see other aircraft from miles away.If there are no controllers just stay connected to Unicom, announce all intentions ie You are at the gate ready for pushback/start. Say something like "All 'ICAO' Traffic,'Callsign' pushing back and starting gate XX" or if you are in the air, keep other pilots updated periodically with "All traffic, 'Callsign', FLXXX, XXnm inbound 'ISEC/VOR', headingXX" We could go on for ages, but that is just a couple of examples. Mail me if you want to chat more about it.Also, Enroute controllers. Download, ServInfo, it wil be available on here. It shows you on a map what controllers are available at airports and enroute. It is an excellent bit of kit - best of all it's free.Like I said, if you want to know more, mail me,pa2q2
March 20, 200323 yr HiJust to clarify. When transmitting on Unicom it is essential that you state what part of the world your in. I don't know how many "I'm on final RWY12" I've seen. As this is completely useless you should try to always state who you address, where you're heading and your intentions i.e. "ESSA tfc, SAS526 on the TRS2T STAR for RWY26" as the transmission is broadcasted on all the VATSIM servers.Regards Mats JohanssonPMDG Flight Test Dept | Asus Z270-A | Intel i5-7600K @ 4.8 GHz OC/H2O | nVidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB OC/O2|
