Hi Guys,This morning I took off from OTBD(Doha ) enroute to Mumbai(VABB)I was vectored by OTBD-APP.I must admit being the first time online, I was really excited but made a little bit of a muck up when I was told to resume "own Navigation".I climbed to FL310 instead of FL330, then asked the approach what the correct flight level was!!!!I think he got a lil bugged becoz he did not respond to my requests for flight following afterwards.(Unless he had logged off)have these questions;1) How do I get handed over from one controller to another.2) Once I have been told to "resume own navigation" , Can I request flight following?3)Logically I guess the next hand off would be to Abu Dhabi ATC,but this did not happen, In this case how do I contact Abu Dhabi ATC for flight following or for that matter the next ATC?4) Whilst flying online , I tried checking my status on the Servinfo but it did not show up under "pilots". Why?Can anyone help here? Thanks,Seacat

Hi SeaCatWelcome to the wonderful world of online flying. I will try to answer your questions:1) The controller will hand you over to the next ATC (if it is availible) You will be asked to change frequency to the new controller's frequency i.e. "UA123, contact Abu Dabhi Center on 123.45, Good day". You read back the new frequency and then change it in SB accordingly.2) If a controller tells you to "resume own navigation" it means that there are no controllers online for your imediate routing. It also means that flight following is a bit hard to get... ;-)3) See 1 and 2. In SB you have an ATC directory. It will show you the nearest ATCs online plus the unicom channel. If no appropriate controller is online for your route change to unicom and "continue own navigation"4) Check your status by selecting the part of the world you are currently flying in or your departure, arrival destination. You hould be visble there. I think, but I'm not sure, you have to configure the Pilots tab to show friends that you would like to keep track on.Hope it helps
