hi guys,tonight i figured i could participate in the virtual onesky? event,so i set up a flight from ehrd(rotterdam,netherlands) to lirf(rome,italy).i connected at 21.30,started to fill out my fp form,checked for atc coverage....LOCKUP...now,i've had lockup's before,with sb and sbhost.dll...so i thought:"drat...i'll have to restart"...restarted,set up the very same flight....LOCKUP......now i get a wee bit annoyed,but hey,what else can one do right,then reboot,restart the sim,resetup the flight,and fill out the form...i checked for atc:LOCKUP...now thoroughly mad,i went on the hunt:i uninstalled sb,removed sb.ini file,removed sbhost.dll,and rebooted...installed the whole lot again,and restarted fs...connected,filled out...ah well,just like above,until:trying to find atc:i saw near every atc station available,except ehaa_w_ctr,eham twr,eham app...while i was 11 nm from eham...just as i think :huh?....LOCKUP...so,my question to you all is:##### HAPPENS HERE?...now,i really wanted to fly this event,so i have tried connecting from 21.30 until 23.15,at which point i had destroyed my keyboard,and had to leave for the shed to find me another one.now i've tried some more:at first i thought it might be the plane:so i tried other plane/panel combo's...no luck.then i thought..it might be the full screen thingy:so i'll run it windowed->and made an interesting discovery:flightsim does not crash,squawkbox crashes(without warning,it just freezes,no matter windowed or fullscreen)and if you happen to be doing something within squawkbox,you're cooked,as you cannot get the focus back to fs,thus needing a restart.when you do ctr-alt-del,and shut down sb,fs2k2 crashes,by virtue of "user.exe".i like flying online,i really do,but i am REALLY REALLY FRUSTRATED by this program(and even more by my inability to change the chain of events...i want to fly online,and my computer has the nerve to say no cantdo mister...GRRRRR)...thanks for reading(if y'all got this far ;-) )and for letting me vent.please guys,answer this question:what the h*** happens?...i've tried everything,searched the forum,tried some more,but NOTHING works.system:amd 1800xp,256mb,geforce4 ti4200,soltek drv4 mobo,ac 97 ob sound,win98 os,programs running:servinfo,fs2k2,sb,sbhost.dll.

Sounds like a possible dll conflict.The leading candidate would have to be the sbhost.dll.Perhaps try using the hostsb.exe. it doesn't run inside the FS window. A bit less convienent for you, but you likely will not experience the lockups you have been experiencing.Regards.Ernie.
