Everything is running I ask for ATIS at the airport I am at but I get nothing. I must not be asking the rightway. Can someone tell me the right way.I have tried .ATIS KDSM Callsign Request ATIS So this is where I am.Thanks for your help GKJR

Use the ACARS function in the Squawkbox FMS. Click the F button in the SB window....then look for the ACARS button.You won't get a real ATIS if the field is not controlled, but you will get the raw METAR report.

There used to be a thing called Auto Atis. You'd set the frequency and press *space > enter* and it would private message you with blue text saying for instance"Sydney International Terminal information OSCAR 2300Z. Arrivals and Departures North and East, up to and including 767, use Runway 16L, ILS 110.90 Arrivals and departures South and West use Runway 16R, ILS 109.50 Simultaneous Parallel Operations in Progress. Wind 070 degrees at 04 knots. Temp 29 . Dewpnt .17 QNH 1003 . Cloud CAVOK Vis Greater than 10 KM On first contact with Sydney Ground or Approach notify receipt of OSCAR:Sydney International Terminal information OSCAR 2300Z. Arrivals and Departures North and East, up to and including 767, use Runway 16L, ILS 110.90 Arrivals and departures South and West use Runway 16R, ILS 109.50 Simultaneous Parallel Operations in Progress. This is unfortunate, because it was quite usefull. It was I believe implimented in various places, indeed a full list of autoatis nodes is to be found at http://www.satpac.org/cgi-bin/autoatis.cgiThis lists all of the airports which had this facility at one time, unfortunatley none at the moment do. so the Acars in SB is the only way to do it now, bar asking the controller weather conditions.
