January 18, 200323 yr What does this mean "Chicago Dept. With Information Alpha" And "On intail contact- Say Location Info Charlie" My question is what is ALPHA AND CHARLIR? Thanks GKJR
January 18, 200323 yr The current release of an airport ATIS is designated using an identifier. This identifier starts with ALPHA and is increased every time a regular update occurs or the ATIS is changed otherwise (f.e. due to rapid weather changes or runway closures). By reporting "we have ALPHA" the pilot indicates that he has taken notice of the ATIS with this identifier. If f.E. BRAVO got active in the meantime the controller will advise him to "check BRAVO".Yours,Martin Georg/EDDFVACC-SAG PR & Events Coordinator *** mailto:[email protected]http://www.ewgva.de/ewgva/images/ConventionSignature.jpg Cheers, Martin Georg/EDDF Contributing editor, FS-Magazin
