Hi all,I'd really like to give VATSIM a try, as I'm a "real" world pilot also. However, I have an older computer (PII400) running FS2K2 and a slow dial-up 'net connection, 26,400bps most of the time.Just wondering if with this old computer and slow connection it would even be worth trying to fly on VATSIM?Regards,ScottKJMS

I used a slow dial-up connection for many years before getting Broadband a couple years ago. The dial-up connection will be fine. The only issue I see is that the multiplayer software will add some overhead to your processor, not much but you may notice it where others with faster computers do not.Give it a try and do not hesitate to ask for help.

Hi Neal,No, I didn't get a chance to get on with VATSIM this weekend. I tried to install a newer graphics card on this machine, and that opened a whole can of worms! Should have known better than to mess with this old machine. However, I have things back to where they were before the attempted install, and hopefully will have a 3-day weekend, so I'll give it a go then.Know of anyone who wants to buy an ATI Radeon 9200 128Meg AGP card? I couldn't get it to work in this old PII400. Heck, the darn machine wouldn't recognise my old graphics card when I put it back in. Anyway, I'm trying to cut my losses. I paid $100.00 for it, but will sell it for $75.00.Regards,ScottKJMS
