Someone with a bit more expertise may be able to confirm this or not, but I found that my SB had out of date server addresses. When I tried to log in that's the error I got...if I recall. There was one server in Brazil that did work for me and I used it for months. What I found eventually is that ServInfo has a command (File->export ipaddr.txt) that will update SB's sever data. After I did that I was able to log into any server of my choice :) If you don't use ServInfo already

FWIW I'm getting the same error, and I'm anything but a newcomer. I've been away from VATSIM for a couple of years, but I have an ID that goes back to SATCO days. My pilot ID still works on the VATSIM web-pages.Has there been some sort of shake-up of the passwords in the last few years?Thanks,-Chr.

All the passwords on VATSIM were reset a few months back. You need to contact the VATSIM membership department to get a new one.

You>need to contact the VATSIM membership department to get a new>one.>If you've kept your email address up to date as required, you can retrieve your password yourself. You'll eventually have to do that as the membership department will not email a password. Use the "lost password" link on the VATSIM home page.

>If you've kept your email address up to date as required, you can >retrieve your password yourself.Brilliant! I'd given up on the automatic password thing - I didn't realize I had to actually click my ID _after_ the status check. The password reminder is allready in my inbox.Thanks,-Chr.
