I am new to VATSIM, I like it very much. But I have a problem. My SB hang after about 20min, even if I just fly like normal.I think it comes into a loop, because Taskmanager shows 99% processor usage for Squawkbox.exe.Someone know that problem? It would be nice if I got help of someone.

Maybe a more experied user can answer better. However, her is my logic.1. Before connect, start the Vatsim'ers popular used application ServInfo, "http://www.avsim.com/hangar/utils/servinfo/" and check your best connection at the tab "Network Servers".2. Try the SB extern separate Window-application "SB Host.exe", not the integrated HostSB.dll in the MSFS-menu. They work the same. After disconnected several times (mayby bad connection to that server), my HostSB.dll crashed once. After this I use "SB Host.exe" only. A separate application can also be killed and restartedfrom Windows if it hang.I wonder if anybody can use MSFS full screen mode practical. The Voice client application isnot integrated and I need to see if it disconnect or some other problem.Lennart Vedin SAS202.

FS9 in full screen mode has caused alot of problems for a lot of people, works great for some but other get nothing but a pain. This goes the same for the Host programs, some have no problems with the DLL others can't make it work and have to use the EXE version. The 20min crash thing was a problem in FS2002 when MS put out Direct X 8.7 (I think) This problem carried over with DX9.0 with FS2004, Ver 9.0a fix this one for us, and I have ver 9.0c with FS9.1 running no problems

The only practical way I've found to use MSFS full screen mode is by installing a second monitor. I run MSFS on the first monitor and AVC, ServInfo, SB, etc.on the second monitor and it works great. When I only had one monitor I was crashing after many switches in and out of MSFS. Now, my first monitor stays in full screen mode all the time.-John Alesse

> Now, my first monitor stays in full screen mode all the time.John Alesse, I did intend to use the screens exacly how you do.One thing more, because it's better frame-rate.But when I go to full screen in FS, FS take both screens forfull screen mode. Cockpit in left however, but right screengoes to full screen mode and if I put Windows in right screenthey just flicker.RADEON 9600 XT AGP 256MBDriver 6.14.10.6444Is there any trick to leave right screen in normal mode ?Lennart Vedin SAS202

Personally I use the .exe to fly. I have always had the problem of not being able to start with the .dll. I have never and I mean not even once had a problem with the .exe in full screen mode. I use ALT+TAB to change back and forth and all is great. I use Servinfo to get my radio frequencies and I am constantly switching back and forth between Full Screen and desktop, to either go online to get charts or to view the map on servinfo. Definately try the .exe and use ALT+Tab method to switch.
