I did not have this problem when installing vatsim three weeks ago... but then i had to reformat and now i got this problem... And i have reformated 4 times yesterday so there is nothing wrong hehehe, and i know how to reformat so its not the reformat issueAdvice would be apreciated Cheers,Marc

Try following:1) Start SBRelay.2) Start FS9 Click Multiplayer, and join SBRelay.3) Create/select a flight in FS9.4) back to Windows Start "SB Host.exe"5) Start SquawkBox.exeIt should now be ready to go into action.Lennart Vedin SAS202

After you did the reformat did you, update you version of Direct X? FS2004 installs ver9.0 which has knowen problems with MP games current version is 9.0cDid you install FSUIPC ver 3.x after you installed SB? SB2.3 by default will install ver 2.76(something like that) and will copy over what ever version you already have with out asking. FS9 needs ver 3.x for SB to work

4) Full description4) If you have any kind of problem, try the separate application "SB Host.exe"(will run in a separate window), and then you don't need start HostSB.dll from FS9-menu. "SB Host.exe" do same job.Alternative use HostSB.dll, start from FS9-menu to get the applicationinside FS9. But try this if you like when you are free from problems. Some people do have problem with HostSB.dll .I can just say "SB Host.exe" are included in the Squawkbox 2.3 software.Note the exact name if you searce the file.Well it could be firewall problem. But if you have connect by "Join"from FS9-multiplayer-menu, it mean you have open the basic port in firewall. My knowledge about firewall ports, se previous topic "Router D-LINK DI-604 setting."Lennart Vedin SAS202

guys is it possible that it could be my router ?? that i need to open some ports possibly ?Thanks,Marc

Ok hey guys... i finally got it by doing what lennart said by running hostsb.exe instead of hostsb.dll but it keeps on getting anooying to switch around for liek frequency change and ident squawk is there anyway to fix this ??Thanks,Marc

Hi guys... ok as of conclusion we found out the problem was niether me nor the software... what i predict is that since my router got a firewall it reacts like this... as 3 weeks ago i didnt have a router secondly my friend sugested to try opening some ports for vatsim... is anyone aware of what ports to open ? cause if SBHOST.exe works fine and sbhost.dll doesnt that s gotta mean that there is something to do with my latest device update here at home which is the router... so if some 1 knows or has any postages by some 1 else that has opend some ports please list them here...my router is a "Linksys BEFSR 41 V3"So any help would be apreciatedThanks everyone for ur kind support on this vatsim issue, now continue on the firewall :(Marc

I non't know "Linksys BEFSR 41 V3", I've only try D-Link DI-604.Se my previous tropic "Router D-LINK DI-604 setting.", could be similar way for setting.I addision, Dave suggest info at http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/sbrelay/help.html .I recommend not to use DMZ (DeMilitaryZone), as I understand it complete removefirewall for selected computer at LAN.Lennart Vedin SAS202

Check Vatsim 103d doc at www.vatsim.net/prc it has a few other ports you may need not listed at the SBRelay help page

Hello...I did open those ports but i dont know if it helped although i found a wierd way to get it to work take a look...ok FINALLY i found the problem but it seems to be very wierd but it works for me... for some reason it seems that in order for sbhost.dll to work u need to run msfs 2004 in a window so when u start sb it is running and not pausing... althought i took off the pausing settings in the general... but it still seems to be running fine when only there is fs 2004 runing a window...now my second problem... i believe i do need to open some port for AVC... because once i am connected... i check on the vatsim websites on which locations are online... lets say EDDM_V_APP then i change my airport to EDDM firstly when i get there, there is no aicraft and secondly there is no frequencie to change to other than unicom... so i dont know i think i need to open a port for avc as welllif you guys could supply me with a link for that or another solution, that would be great :)Thank You For All This Great Support Up Till Today :)Marc
