January 8, 200521 yr When starting at a US airport, would it be possible to have foreign registration? I know it might be a stretch, but I saw a G-**** registration at Martin State (KMTN) once. - I am asking this because I am a Pole going to school in the US and the only time I can fly, the controllers in Warsaw are away.Second question, how would I file for a "test" flight on VATSIM? I know there is a GOLDA VFR just outside of Martin State, and I fly there in real life, so can I just put D-> where it says "Route" on the flightplan page, and then just cruise out to GOLDA, do some manouvers then come back? Thanks!
January 11, 200521 yr *Any* registration is fine. It doesn't matter if you use a non-US registration while flying in the US.Second, if you want to just take a "test" flight; file VFR and you shouldn't have any problems. As long as you are not departing a Class B airport you can just take off and fly to where you want while avoiding VFR restricted airspaces along the way : ) Hope this helps.
January 11, 200521 yr yes, as in real life, sometimes non-us aircraft fly to us areas. Usually airlines will use their airline callsign, but in the case of buisness jets flying corperate trans-atlantics for instance, they arn't actually an airline, so in this case I would imagine some aircraft would need to use their registrations.test flights should be ok as VFR, though it may be more interesting to fly for instance, circuits, or a small hop from a small non-tower airport to another. Of course the fun in vatsim comes when you fly from controlled airports. Most of the ARTCC's in the US have flight routes in their pages which you can use in most of the payware aircraft, or just use the GPS if you don't have the money for the products (such as PSS Airbus's or PMDG's 737NG etc) Trent Hopkinson, 2015 Crewmember of www.mangrove.com.au WorldFlight sim Youtube channel www.youtube.com/user/musicalaviator
