I'm wondering what (if any) GA type (turbo-prop or internal combustion) aircraft might be able to make the trip from the US mainland to Honolulu? I recall that the airlines were successful in getting an extended ETOPS (from 120 to 180 minutes, as I recall) rating for this specific trip, which is obviously a lot more demanding than a trans-Atlantic flight (less diversionary options :) ) .Thanks,Bruce.

I read an article in a FLYING magazine about a guy that flew his mooney from LA to Hawaii. He replaced the 3 passenger seats with fuel tanks.

That's quite a trip- I don't think I would feel particularly safe in something that small with no possible en route stops!Thanks for the reply,Bruce.
