September 24, 200718 yr Colleagues,I am going NUTS!! Recently, each time that I log into VATSIM using either SB3 or FSINN my aircraft periodically gets "bumped" for no reason (wind stays constant...sometimes at 0) causing my aircraft to either roll backwards or get bucked up on its tail causing a crash (ouch crash...not CTD). This also manifests itself as a "windshear" effect in flight every minute or so. This does not occur in single player OR when FSINN or SB3 are open but not yet connected to the network. In an effort to remedy this situation I have done the following:1. Uninstalled all addons2. Uninstalled the entire sim and reinstalled with no addons (other than SB3 and FSINN)...twice.3. Deleted FS9.CFG4. Deleted "Flight Sim Files" under MyDocs5. Updated to the newest FSUIPC6. Reset both clients to default conditions7. Moved sliders for WX update and position update frequency around. Please! I am at my last wit's end over here. Any and all troubleshooting suggestions are warmly welcomed!~Jason
September 25, 200718 yr Did it happen even if with default aircraft in default scenery and a different than usual location ?Kyprianos Biris :-cool[link:hvacc.org]Hellenic vACChttp://vateur.org/staff/vateur_m.jpghttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/810309/3.png Hellenic vACC - Olympic Aegean Virtual Prepar3D 5.3 | CPU i9 10900K | VGA: RTX 3070 | RAM: 32GB DDR4 | Monitor: 3440x1440
September 25, 200718 yr Yes Yes and Yes. I am benchmarking with the Cessna 172 with no other addons and can get it to happen at KSEA or any number of other airports.
September 26, 200718 yr Some more suggestions:1. Clear weather through FSUIPC option (from its settings)2. Disable SB3 weather download, connect and see if this still happens.3. If it still happens start a flight connected with SB3 and weather enable with SLEW mode while airborne and release slew. Land at nearest airport and see if it still happens after landing. When you do this go into FS weather details and write down the weather that has been uploaded in youe FS (i.e. wind, turbulence etc.). Then with SB3 inactive & offline from vatsim reinsert these weather parameters and see if it happens.4. Go through FSUIPC settings and disable any wake turbulence settings and try againKyprianos Biris :-cool[link:hvacc.org]Hellenic vACChttp://vateur.org/staff/vateur_m.jpghttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/810309/3.png Hellenic vACC - Olympic Aegean Virtual Prepar3D 5.3 | CPU i9 10900K | VGA: RTX 3070 | RAM: 32GB DDR4 | Monitor: 3440x1440
September 26, 200718 yr Thanks for the suggestions. I systematically tried them all to no avail. In desperation I wiped and reformatted last night, let windows update do its thing, reinstalled the sim, installed SB3 only...SAME PROBLEM. By this time I was about to jump off a cliff. Finally, with my last bit of will, I wiped and reformatted AGAIN, this time not allowing windows update to do it's thing...installed the sim...installed SB3...IT WORKS!!!! There is something in the recent updates (i would say in the last week or so) that is causing this. I have been systematically adding in what I deem to be harmless updates and setting restore points along the way. Hopefully I can get most of the way up to date without having this crop up again.~Jason
