Light & Paint !!

Featured Replies

Question if anyone can help......!!Has anyone come across a paint that can be used to provide the "background" to a piece of perspex that has good uniform light diffusing/illuminating qualities that could be used for panel backlighting >??Also, laser etching....where is this done typically? Commercial printers....prontoprint?!!!HELP!!!!!!!Thanks

Check out www.flightdecksolutions.com. They have a great solution for backing your panels.I also stumbled across something really slick in providing backlight to panels. I was at the local CompUSA and wanted to buy a computer case. I saw all kinds of cases, with plexiglass windows, and internal lighting! You can buy these 12 inch mini flourescent lamps in red, green, blue, yellow and ultraviolet.I bought a blue one and placed it behind the radio stack (Panels from CSI and AGT) and I have to say the effect is impressive. They are brilliant and work very well behind panels, even without the light dispersement material. The Mfr is PCToys, but I have yet to find anything online.. Only at CompUSA have I found this stuff.

Rope lighting also works. I use it for my Airbus pedestal, FCU, EFIS, etc. I also installed a variable switch so the light intensity is adjustable. I'm using clear, but I've also seen it in red, blue and green.Richard
