Cockpit Window start locations with dual or triple moni

Can someone tell me where the startup positions when using more than one monitor are stored, as well as the wndow size. It used to be this way:When I saved a flight and opened it later all windows opened at the same spots and with the same size as they used to be when I saved the flght. Somehow this information got mixed up by reinstalling drivers and adding a third monitor. Now I have to switch between WinXp and FS2002 to even see some of the windows. I have to resize all windows as they are all gathered at the primary monitor and it seems they have a random size, at least not the same size they had when I saved the flight.Apart frm that my 3 monitor setup works perfect. But still this is very annoying. Can somebody help me out here? Does it help to rewrite the FS2002.cfg? Do I have to delete the old default flight?Alex

Not sure why it's not behaving properly. If you place all the panels where you want them and save it as a new flight, does loading that new flight keep the correct setup? If not, then try moving the fs2002.cfg to another folder so FS can recreate it and try saving the layout as a new flight.Peter http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/PeterR.gifBFU Forums Moderator

http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/logo75t.gifBush Flying Unlimited"At home in the wild"Looking for adventure? Yeah Peter, that is what I suspected to be a solution. I will try that tomorrow. Frm the post you can take that my third monitor is up and running with the primary flight instruments. I also have my Flight Link USB twin prop throttle running, which by the way is fantastic and more than I expected.C ya soon.Alex

Hi Peter, have you checked the box "stop resizing panel" (not quite certain that this is the correct wording) in FSUIPC and saved that flight? In this case you will nomore have to fight with shifted / resized windows.Hope this helps.Best rgdsPeter

I didn't see that option before in FSUIPC. I've only tried the similarly named option in FS which doesn't seem to do anything. I'll have to check that out.Alex, you might want to try it too.Peter http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/PeterR.gifBFU Forums Moderator

Hi guys,I already tried that as well as your suggestions Peter. Nothing really helps. It used to be that not only the window size, but also the start loaction (which monitor and what location) was stored. Whatever I do I don't get it to work the way it was since I started using a 2nd vid card and a third monitor. I guess there is some Nvidia desktop crap sitting in the registry. I guess the only way to get back to normal is to make a system restore and simply delete any reg entry that has to do with Nvidia or display. After that reinstall drivers. Wish me luck guys.Alex

Before you go to that extent, try reinstalling the drivers on top of the existing ones. If it's a corrupt or bogus registry entry, the reinstall should reset it.Peter http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/PeterR.gifBFU Forums Moderator

Well,I completely reinstalled drivers by denying XP the nv3/nv4.inf and phf files. That did the trick partly. While window locations are now stored for the 2nd monitor FS2002 seems to not "see" the 3rd one when it starts. The funny thing is after FS2002 is fired up and I go back to the desktop windows now stay where I left them.Alex
