Where do gear wheels come from?

I'm just getting started with my own plans. An obvious question that pops into my mind is "Where can you but gear wheels?". I need then to connect pots / rotary switches to the actual levers.My old Cannon printer offered me a few bits and pieces but I'm not sure if they will be of any use. Can I buy these little things in multiples?Ken R

You know that kind of belt that has the "teeth" - do that on both "gears" and it might work fine:http://users.skynet.be/plipke/PF50HC/images/Day005_6.jpg(from http://www.fokker50.be.tf/)also you dont have to use gears - you can as well do like model airplanes (and real ones as well) do for the control surfaces - use control rods. From halfway between the throttle lever pivot point and the handle drill a small hole and attach a control rod that you then link to a slide pot, or a rotating pot via another lever. or do it like this:http://tigert.gimp.org/vatsim/cockpit-stuff/throttle3.jpgIt does not *need* to be geared, though gears make usually a nice and compact solution.Tuomas
