August 22, 200223 yr Fellow simmers,I'm looking for a good FS2K2 pushback utility. Can anyone recommend one?Is FSAssist 2002 from Lago worth the $20? I've downloaded FSBoarding and do not want a pushback utility that slew's the aircraft? Thanks in advance for any replies.Bob Lyddy
August 22, 200223 yr Bob:I have only use the pushback utility because the optimization of FS is no longer necessary since it does it itself. Worth $20? Nope. I haven't used the pushback utility in quite some time because it misbehaves. For instance with POSKY's planes it forces the nose gear to collapse, in other aircraft it has caused building crashes (where there are no buildings!), and once you start pushing back it will not let you tell the ground crew to stop when they are pushing you into an AI aircraft or into the grass, or into a nearby lake.Keep your SHIFT-P for now until someone does it better!Regards,
August 23, 200223 yr Hi Mike,Thanks for the info. Fly! has a great pushback utility. Ashame we can't use it in FS.Kindest regards,Bob Lyddy
August 23, 200223 yr Bob,AFAIK there are 3 ways of pushback.1) MS built-in. Never mind.2) LAG0's FSAssist. The only one to display a pushback truck, and fine-adjustable where to go, but unstoppable once underway. Also the only payware.3) I'm not sure who created it, maybe FPDA, but on quite a lot of panels in the library there's a pushback gauge. You can select turning amount and pb distance in larger increments, it has sounds and You can interrupt if You see something's going wrong. It's freeware, too.I suggest You do a (ext.) file library search for "pushback", it was once released for fs2k but also works in 2k2. Try it and decide if it's sufficient for Your needs. If it isn't, I believe Lago has a tryout version of FSA on their site.ToMey
