TrackerIR

I've noticed reference to this recently, but not really sure what it is. I hunted around and read this excellent article in FlightSimVets:http://flightsimvets.edirectamerica.com/ar...read.asp?id=225I can feel my credit card wincing again. Do people agree? Where do you get it from? How much does it cost? Is this a better purchase for sit awareness than, say, the 3D glasses? Or is it just a fad.ThanksRichard

I have it. It works as advertised, providing head movement-driven control of the VC view in FS2002. You can adjust the "sensitivity" - i.e. how much head movement it takes to pan full left or right. The F12 key (default) re-centers the view, which is occasionally necessary (but not annoyingly so).I think I posted a similar response a while back, in which I said that flying helicopters with the TrackerIR is well-nigh impossible, but normal fixed-wing ops are OK in all flight modes except possibly landing, where I tend to want a fixed view on the flare. If you've got the bucks, give it a shot. I don't use it all the time but it's a fun toy. It's a (comparatively) inexpensive alternative to a multi-monitor setup for multiple views, or (my favorite piece of unobtanium) a head-mounted display system that tracks your head movement to control the view.Dave BlevinsKRHV

Well, there is so much said over this thing that I can only add: It works great and very smooth. Much smoother like the POV hat on your joystick. Since I own this nice little thing you will hardly find me switching to an outside view.It fairly topped the expectations I had when I ordered it which is rarely the case.If you like the idea of having such a thing: Get it! You can't do nothing wrong with it.Alex
