GA instrument panel over WideFS

Featured Replies

Hi everyone - I've uploaded Version 2.0 of my "FSPanel" app to the file library. I've fixed a couple of bugs, smoothed out and speeded up the code, and added engine instrumentation. As before, no 3D graphics, so it'll run on anything that can run Win95 or later - I'm using it fine on a P33 laptop. Here's a screenshot...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/59423.jpgI'd of course be pleased to hear any comments or requests for changes or new features.Richard

Richard, This looks awesome.... If you don't mind me asking... Did you draw these gauges with some kind of paint program? Have you tried it on MSFS? if so how did it go? lastly, where can I find FSPanel.app? Keep up good work, that sure look awesome.

The engine instruments backgrounds were drawn in Paint, yes, and the needles are drawn at runtime by calculating the start and end points and just using the VB 'line' command. The flight instruments are ActiveX controls - when you run the app you actually get a copyright box from Global Majic, the seller of the ActiveX control they're written on. Yes, I ran it on MSFs both on the same computer and over WideFS before releasing it. The gauges look to me to be as smooth as the original MSFS ones - not perfectly aliased out, in other words, but I think perfectly adequate. It's in the File Library - just seach on "FSPanel".by the way - if anyone runs it on MSFS2004 can you let me know how it goes? I don't have 2004 installed to try it on.Richard

Hi Richard,Tried it in Fs2004 and Widefs, all went fine.Well done, would be agreat asset to someone with an underpowered pc.maybe you model it along the lines of a C172 and im sure you would attract a lot of interest. Thanks again for giving it to all of us.take care.RgdsLesP.S Its great that it doesnt need a fancy pc.
