June 27, 200421 yr Nice!Don't be saddened by this forum not enjoying your results, it's just that here people looks more for big realistic things, than home made panels :)Are you using "lava" colour displays? In the photo they do not look nor amber nor red...

June 27, 200421 yr You can find the rotary on this site : thttp://www.conrad.comor on this site http://www.velleman.be about 2.5
June 27, 200421 yr Nicely done!Conrad is so hard to search, having all components in the most weird places...I tried velleman but can't find them.Do you have any part number for those concernic rotaries? Thanks!George DorkofikisAthens, Greecehttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/betaimg.jpg

June 28, 200421 yr It's because he did them as most do: hacking 12 pos rotaries :)Don't get the freak out of your mind trying to find concentric rotaries as there are none ;)sadly enough :(
June 28, 200421 yr Ah i c.I checked the first movie and there indeed you can see ( and hear ) that these are no rot-encs but just rotary switches. Is it the fsbus soft that allows to use these as rotary encoders ?Seem to work great though I don't like them too much cuz the detents are way to strong.
June 28, 200421 yr FSBus does indeed cater for these rotary switches, as do most other input boards. And as for the detents, remove the cover and shorten the spring slightly. And get ready to catch the little ball bearings!
June 28, 200421 yr >Is it the fsbus soft that allows to use these as rotary>encoders ?Yes, buy connecting them in a particular way, FSBUS is able to obtain a "forward/backward" motion nad use them as encoders.>Seem to work great though I don't like them too much cuz the>detents are way to strong.Neighter do i, that's why i always try to find a way to use encoders ;)They aren't that expensive, so why not use them?
