October 4, 200421 yr In the real 777, the MCP displays have small letter indicators, such as ALT, HDG, etc, beside the actual value. These letters are small. Project Magenta also displays these on the MCP. How would you set it up so that these would display on the hardware MCP display? Would it work with an LCD display, which you can buy from SEIKO -- graphic dot matrix LCD? Any ideas?Alan
October 4, 200421 yr Hi Alan,The best way I have seen to do that so far can be found athttp://www.777sim.spahrmann.de/tutorials/mcp_e.htmGary
October 5, 200421 yr We've been talking about something similar in the German FXP Homebuilders Forum: http://www.wcm.at/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=146886Along the line of that discussion, I modified a 16x2 Character LC Display from positive reflective to negative transmissive kind.I've made some pics of the process, see here:reflective -> transmissive: http://cockpit.varxec.net/tmp/gal/lcd_galleryidx.htmlpositive -> negative: http://cockpit.varxec.net/tmp/gal/lcd2_galleryidx.htmlThe first gallery doesn't have comments, but its simple enough, I just removed the reflective tape from the back of the LCD glass. Here's a preview:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/93441.jpgLooking at this picture, http://www.airliners.net/open.file/669968/L/it seems line those two line displays might fit the bill perfectly :).. since the gap between the two lines of a character display coincides with the "segments break" seen in the airliners.net picture.Manuel
