December 8, 200421 yr Further to my previous post 'Rough mental design.....' I have decided to add a third display to the PC to be mounted in the console. I am currently running a GeForce 5900, driving two displays. I have a very old PCI card but can't get this to run with the 5900 when it is driving two displays. When I first set this up I was aware of an issue with older cards, and that using newer cards allowed one to run many cards under XP.My question is, is this card -> XFX GeForce MX4000 64MB going to allow me to run three displays under XP? I can get one for about
December 9, 200421 yr I run three cards - all Matrox -One Parhelia and two older cards. It's an expensive hobby!TONY
December 9, 200421 yr I run three cards in mine a PNY fx5200 and two Creative Graphics blaster extremes. The pci cards should be pci 2.1 compliant and usually you have to set the bios to initialize the pci display first.
December 9, 200421 yr Thanks all. I would think a new card like this would be compatible, so I'll be purchasine one over Christmas.I used to run 4 Cards on a 98 box. One AGP and 3 PCI. But those old PCI cards will only set up singly, and won't let me use the two displays of the 5900 under XP.
