December 21, 200421 yr Hi all,I have downloaded FSbus PCB layouts. These have the components drawnon them as well.Won't this interfere with the etching?Causing shorts.I have not found any other layouts.Any ideas.Flyinghigh. :-)
December 21, 200421 yr Did you download them direct from fsbus.de or from somewhere else?I know there are pictures out there which show you were to put the components (very handy) but certainly not a good move for etching.Welcome to the FSBus experience - it's a GREAT system

December 21, 200421 yr FLYING HIGH,Please have a look here http://mikkila.wabbits.org/fsbus/doc/pdf_e.phpThese are the PDF files you are looking for. They are made from the *.ps files in de the FSBUS docs.Feel free to ask questions,Good luck,Roel
December 21, 200421 yr Roel,Fantastic !Download straight away. While waiting I asked my son & he found a site to download the program to read the above files.I have to study it but looks interesting.I think its the program used to create what you have given me.www.pentalogix.comThanksChrisFlyinghighSydney
December 21, 200421 yr I am fairly new to this also, as I have only gotten most of my MCP completed. This is only MY opinion. I use FSBUS for my interface. When you begin to make your boards, skip making the boards for the displays themselves. Make the display control board, but do not make the boards for the 14mm displays. I have found that I have no occasion to use them. I built them, added the LEDs and have never been able to use them. All of the displays I have needed to date have been of the 8mm size. I wasted (in my opinion) a lot of time and money. Milt
December 21, 200421 yr Also make sure you dont get the boards mirrored - see the photos of the completed boards in mikkila.org, and note that the components are on the opposite side of the soldering, so its easy to make a mental goof. I think the boards will have the texts in mirror when it is etched correctly, and this does get some people wrong initially. So make a double check..//Tuomas
December 21, 200421 yr Yeah the 14mm ones are rather large - I still ended up using them - as I couldn't find the 8mm ones, but still didn't make the boards (well I did, but boy have I butchered them).I wanted them closer together so used normal template boards to make them.
