Phidgets

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,I'm having a problem I am trying to get fixed but no luck so far on 2 other forums so thought lets put the question out here who knows might get lucky.I rescently bought a phidgets card because other options I have tried so far require too much programing and that is something I lack knowledge off.Getting a toggle switch or a led to work with the phidgets card is no problem, but when I try to get an AML momentary switch too work is where the problems start.when pushed the switch works but when I remove my finger it goes out again ( looks like it needs 2 commands)on an other forum somebody mentioned I needed PM software for this too work and I have the software but still no idea what I have to do exactly to get this switch to work as required.hopefully somebody in here uses these cards or knows how to fix this.thanks in advance for any helpregards,Nihad

momentary = give a pulse... (go on, go back off)So there's no problem, just use a regular switch

I know a momentary switch gives a pulse but what I mean is when the switch is assigned to a button in FS and when pushed it shows working but it only works when pushed in and turns off when I remove my finger what I want it to do is stay working and go off when I push it again from what I have heard that should be possible with this hardware.Using other switches is not an option.Thank you for replying sir.Nihad

Hi Nihad,Do you have the aml switch wired as NC or NO? It should be wired as NO.Gary

Nihad, sorry, I thought answered your question, your response was not forwarded from the Phidget Forum. So I just assumed you got it working. What I displayed in the Phidget Forum, goes in the FS2PhUIPC.ini file. It's not a code, just the assignments for the FS FIELDS. Again, it depends on the software. Specifically what PM software are you working with, and what switch. If for some reason I don't repsond.... send me an email. I'll gladly help.Matt O.

Hi Matt,Thank u for your help at the phidgets forum and at first was not sure where I needed to put the information u had wrote down but then noticed where to add those lines and also saw u used Airbus coding so I used the settings with example : A/P master switch but still no change it is still acting the same do I need to change anything in the fsuipc settings in FS or change the MCP ini in some way.The PM software I have is the Boeing type.Thank u too Gary and yes I have it wired as NO.Nihad

It seems to me, Enrico writes the code somewhat different for the Boeing than the Airbus. My understanding of the Boeing switches, most are toggle (off/on). Enrico my not have made provisions for momentary switches in the Boeing software. BUT.... I could be wrong. If you haven't already, go to the following newsgroup and ask there for the off and on value for the offset you are looking for. Normally the off value is 0 but the on.... who knows:)http://www.projectmagenta.com/resources/newsgroup.htmlEnrico normally responds rather quickly and always is very helpful.Regarding FSUIPC.... has nothing to do with it....Hopefully this is helpful.
