Duel shaft rotary switch?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys Is there such a thing as a duel shaft standard rotary switch? it seems like I saw one one time on a piece of military equipment, but I can't remeber. Dave

Hi Dave,There are indeed dual concentric shaft rotary switches. They were used extensively in older test equipment like Tektronix, HP, even Heathkit. However, it's been years since I've run across any of the open deck variety in a vendor's catalog. While the parts might still be "standard", I suspect the assembled switch is somewhat of a special order item these days. If you move up to the high end Grayhill types, I wouldn't be surprised to find a catalog number for a standard dual shaft switch, but once again, I would suspect it would be a factory order item. I have on occasion run across some interesting looking switches listed on Ebay. If you're looking for a dual shaft switches at reasonable cost, keeping an eye on online auction sites maybe one of the better approaches. Mike, N5GTFwww.mikesflightdeck.com

Hi Mike Thank's for the info I thought there were such things but, it's been years since I've done any kind of electronic work and the old noodle is like a steel trap what goes in never comes out.I have a friend with lots of old junky HF gear Heathkit etc. I think I'll pick through the stuff and see if there's anything I'm looking for. Thanks again Mike, 73 Dave
