March 17, 200521 yr I am trying to set up two CRT monitors, however, they flicker when next to each other. I am planning on building a cockpit (drawings completed, budget set) but if my screens flicker, the plan is in trouble. Can anyone suggest a fix, or let me know what the problem might be?Thank you,Robert
March 17, 200521 yr Hi.A few things you may want to try.1-Change the Synch freq. set one for let's say 100 Hz, and the other 85.2-Make sure your Video cables do not run parallel to each other, is they have to be together cross them.3-Make sure neither one uses 60 Hz or whatever your line freq. Is where you reside, if in Eu not 55 Hz.If these do not help, post here for more help. TV
March 17, 200521 yr My guess is that the monitors get electromagnetic interference from the transformers of one another; if the flickering stops when you have them 10-20cm apart (4-8 inches) then that must be the problem. The only solution is to make a small metal box (thickness of metal is not important) and place them inside, having it grounded. If this is out of the question for you, even a (grounded) sheet of metal between them (especially in the back of the crt gun where the magnetic diversion coils are) could do the work or limit the problem.
March 28, 200521 yr I had the same problem with my 5 monitor set up and changing the refresh rate to something different for each monitor solved it.
