FSBUS New Release !!!!!

Featured Replies

Big exciting moment ....The new release of the FSBUS software will be dowloadable invery few moment, they are in way to put it on the FTP serverThe docs for the new COM module in pdf are NOW on thewebsite www.fsbus.deVery nice docs, great thanks to Dirk for the work.BOB

Very nice.... I've emailed Dirk to ask if he could post a copper layer only .lay file for the PCB layout - the one posted now shows the components and everything, so can't be used for etching. The free viewer doesn't let you seperate the layers, and my CAD software doesn't recognize the .lay file format.Richard

It is possible to select the layers to be printed with the free viewer. On the "print" screen, you can select and de-select all the layers.I just printed a perfect PCB layout without the components without any problems.

OK, I'm confused.... When I tried to print yesterday, the print command just took me straight to my printer control panel. Today it brings up the viewers dialogue window and lets me select layers. I guess the technology just hates me. :-(Richard

I went to the store today to buy the components to make the new FSBUS COMM card.... They had everything I need except the 74HC04 CMOS chip. They did have a 74HCT04 chip, and the sales guy said they were interchangeable. I've looked at the datasheets since I got home, and the only difference I see is that for the 'T' version it says "TTL enabled". The pinout diagramn however seems identical. Are these chips fully pin compatible? The HCT was slightly higher priced but only trivially so - 59c for the HC, 89c for the HCT, but I can't see any other difference.Richard

What is new with this version of FSBUS??Thanks.Roberto

Richard,I think the HCT has slightly different switching thresholds. Should not cause a problem.Mikewww.mikesflightdeck.com

What is not clear to me is if the new router software is backward compatible.

The new software and COMM board will drive the old daughter boards, but will not be able to flash the PICs.Richard

>but will not be able to flash the PICs.>So, how is that done then?RegardsPeter

You're either going to have to make new daughterboards, or hang on to an old FSCOMM board.Richard

Hmmm... so is there anything to gain by updating the FSROUTER software?

Hi! I'm just curious which is the latest fsbus software.I've been on the fsbus site and could't found downloadable prog on the site. Only avaible software was the com board tester.Since I use the old fsbus com board I need a soft to use with that board. The only downloadable version is on the "old" site and it's version number is still 2.2 since mid 2004. As far as I remember it had some bug in CCC mode.Had it been upgraded and available somewhere?I could't found even a forum on the fsbus site.Cheers
