Hi Tuomas,I see on Opencockpits forum you were asking questions regardingtheir USB servo boards.I am thinking of using one and want to know the following, hope you can help.1.Have you worked out what you need to drive the board and how to do it.On the surface its seems a lot more complicated than FSB.2.Does their servo bd drive a servos the full 180.As fsbus only outputsa .9 to 2ms pulse. This will not drive a Hitec 311 the full 180.I dont want to have to gear it.I see Phidgets will do 180.Hope you can shed some light.ThanksLes

Hello !1) You need configure your USBServo, using SIOC (or a specific language using IOCP). The card is plug&play, but you need configure for your purpose (You can follow example of Manual).2) USBServos (6 servo motors) range is from 214us to 2298us (2.3ms) and 10bits of resolution. I use Hitec servos in my attitude indicator and not have problems. For my Flaps indicator i use futaba servo motor and any problem.

Hi Ferdie,Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me when the servo board starts up.What pulse width is output.Hopefully it starts in neutral(1.5ms)ThanksLes

In this card, when servo board starts up. all servo are disconnected. This feature is used for some gauges because if in starts up a servo motor move to a bad position, can break some mechanism of gauges (for a limited movement). You can define by software the first position for each servo motor.

It's looking very interesting thouhg. With simkits we noticed that HITEC servos move a bit wider range than Futaba's - that is not an issue in radio control plane use, since you wont need the full range anyway, but it is more important in gauge use indeed. This wont matter for you since you have hitecs anyway, but it was an interesting discovery.//Tuomas

Thanks Tuomas,Yes the iocards looks interesting ok.I also like the stepper bD as it will do microstepping.I have just purchased 5 Unipoloar 400 stepmotors, currently converting a real tach to stepper. So think i will purchase both kits to see how they perform.Les
