Hi ArthurI'm after the 767-300....sorry I should have specified.Hope you can help me out...Many ThanksIan

Outsiders question .. what's the difference ?

Ian, I have drawing of TQ on 400 version... But not 300's... But, I will try to ask few of my pilot friends that flies 300's to get drawing for you. Just give me few days.Porkeke, The difference between 767-300 and 400 is the interior:Instrument Panels:-300's Glass cockpit look like 757's replicahttp://www.airliners.net/open.file/849662/M/ -400's look like 777'shttp://www.airliners.net/open.file/141901/M/ Throttle Quadrant: -300's to 757's http://www.airliners.net/open.file/790270/M/ -400 to 777's but a little different, The trim. 777 has leveler and 400 has rocker switch.http://www.airliners.net/open.file/111175/M/ Center Ped:-300's to 757 http://www.airliners.net/open.file/678811/M/ -400 to 777 a littlebit.http://www.airliners.net/open.file/111174/M/ Overhead, for 300 and 400 are same.767-300/400 http://www.airliners.net/open.file/602124/M/ 777's http://www.airliners.net/open.file/744692/M/ As for exterior, the 400 body length is more longer than 300's300'shttp://www.airliners.net/open.file/905344/M/ 400'shttp://www.airliners.net/open.file/904687/M/ Hope that helps

Well that's a nice overview :)I had no idea there was this difference in cockpit from 1 type of plane. (only the 747 and 737 f cours).Weird though that Boeing seems to have different types of cockpit per plane and Airbus on the other hand doesn't have that. Furthermore Airbus seems to have somewhat 1 layout for all their planes.

Porkeke I was told Boeing never intend on selling B767-400ER, it was just an expermential Plane for B777 before they came out in 1995, They were Observing and testing some new type of instrument and panels for 777. But until then, there was change of plan, they sold it to few airliners company starting in 1998. Well, Boeing seem like to keep update with panels, getting the cockpit with luxury amenities for pilot to feel like they are at home. I don't know about Airbus... But I was once told that it takes for ever for Airbus engineers to decide what type of instruments they wanted to build. That's probably why there were few changes in Airpus, oops! I mean Airbus :)

Actually it's all about money. And in particular money spend for training and aircraft familirazation.A pilot certified for the A320 is automatically certified for the A319 and A318.When upgrading, for the same pilot to transfer to A330 or A340 it will cost the airline less training time and money since the cockpits are almost identical and mostly same procedures apply. So, the use of the same cockpit layout on all the airbus series saves money of the potential customer. On the other hand, it requires more training, thus more time and money to upgrade from a 737 to the 747 or 767 or 777 or 757 or ....Oh, well.. Geroge, it sound sense to me... However... Negative - If I am certified to fly Airbus I would get tired of seeing same instrument on every Airbus versionsPostive - It's not easy to forget or having trouble remembering every part of instrumentMaybe I would fly Airbus afterall if it has brown instrument :)

Actually it is not boring to see the same type of Instruments all the time, Big differences between the A-320 and the A-319 PERFORMANCE wise the A-319 is like the

Okay Roberto, I belive you :) you flew A320? How many hours?

Actually is my office these days, still flying it around 750 hours on type and having more fun with it every day!! Oh yeah and I get paid... THE SECOND BEST JOB IN THE WORLD!!Take care.Roberto

Many Thanks ArthurI appreciate your efforts

>Negative - If I am certified to fly Airbus I would get tired>of seeing same instrument on every Airbus versionsYou see the same guy on the mirror every morning too.. ;^)//T

Oh god no .. brown ? That's what I don't like about Boeing in the first place. I love the 73NG's and the ol 74's, not all the others.Another thought .. Positive - a Boeing pilot would much quicker realise that he's boarded the wrong plane :D
